Funded by the 100 Ladies of Deering and written by author and preservationist Becky Roper Matkov, produced by Emmy-Award-winning director Carl Kesser, this half-hour film "On This Land: The Charles Deering Estate" is a project that involved extensive research, including trips to Chicago, Sarasota and Barcelona and Sitges, Spain and interviews with historians, archaeologists, a former governor and descendants of Charles Deering.
Restoration of two rare, pre-17th century stained glass panels depicting the Holy Family's Flight Into Egypt is now complete, and the two panels are permanent display at the Deering Estate. Separated upon the death of Charles Deering, the pieces are now reunited, thanks in part to the generosity of the estate of Barbara Deering Strachan Danielson. Before going back on public display in the Stone House, each piece has undergone a complete restoration.

Charles Deering commissioned bookcases for the Richmond Cottage for his vast library. Today, they are back at the Deering Estate in Charles Deering’s Study in the Stone House, housing a collection of art and artifacts that showcase Charles Deering’s time in the U.S. Navy, as Chairman of International Harvester, and as an art collector.
